Alain Alvarez, MD
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Dr. Alvarez was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida. Dr. Alvarez graduated Phi Kappa Phi with both his Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and immunology and his medical degree from the University of Miami. He completed residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida and rheumatology fellowship training at the University of Minnesota.
An avid sports fan, especially college football, and a former professional salsa instructor, Dr. Alvarez has a keen interest in providing non-surgical orthopedic alternatives for his patients. He also holds a special interest in inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.
Dr. Alvarez’s expansive research experience gives him the knowledge to offer a myriad of options to patients as he endeavors to improve patients’ quality of life.
