Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. The pain derives from inflammation of a thick band of tissue, called the plantar fascia, which runs across the bottom of the foot connecting the heel bone to the toes.
Treatment with prescription and over-the-counter medications, as well as physical therapy, can help those suffering with plantar fasciitis recover in a short period of time. Rheumatologic intervention may also be needed.
